Recent Work

Below is a small selection of more recent pieces from my design portfolio:

Hoptoad Marketing Page

ThoughtBot, a Boston-based Rails shop, asked me to work on a quick revision of their leading web application for Rails exceptions called Hoptoad. The previous incarnation didn’t truly explain what the application was or how it could help users, so my main focus with this design was to make the purpose of the application obvious and make it easy for users to sign up for a free or paid account.
Is Patrick Wearing a KERN Sweatshirt?

After wearing the KERN sweatshirt from Veer so often, it started to become such a trend that people wondered when I didn’t wear it. So as a joke, and mostly for fun, I put together a little microsite in honor of that very sweatshirt, which is powered by a Twitter account and uses some custom PHP I wrote myself.
Harvard PIN System

This proposed design for both desktop browsers and Mobile Safari on the iPhone cleans up the interface, gives it more of an ivy league feel, increases the size of input fields to help users fill out the form, and enhances the mobile experience by reducing the need to zoom and scroll around the page.
Refresh Boston

Since taking the reigns of Refresh in Boston in 2006, I’ve slowly built up the community to the point that we’re now having regularly scheduled meetings. In order to get the word out, the website needed to be short and sweet, with relevant information on a single page. Some quick prototyping with the 960 Grid System, a little bit of design work, and a sprinkling of Microformats, the Refresh Boston website is now a reality.
Hearst Magazines Customer Service

Hearst Magazines needed a new customer service site for their now cancelled Weekend Magazine that was in line with the publication’s design and feel. I was asked to design this fairly simple site and create a working demo of how it would work.

I already googled that.
For those times when you ask for help and someone tells you to Google it. Which you obviously did first, because you're not an idiot.
