Completely Drained?

A Think Tank entry written on Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

If you remember, despite our differences thus far, I love my MacBook. We’ve had our problems now and then, but we’re working through them. Yet, I think there will be some time apart in our future.

I can deal with the constant whining, even though I’m not always sure where it’s coming from. And when things get heated, I find a way to put the fire out. I can even look past the flicker in our stare when things seem to get a little darker.

Yet suddenly, in what seemed to be no time at all, everything went silent. Completely drained, our connection was broken. I looked for any sign, any indicator, that things weren’t lost altogether, but no light shined through. With little hesitation, I reached for what I thought would put some life back into our bond, and luckily it worked. But the problem didn’t disolve, for this was only a temporary solution.

You see, despite the fact that I was able to get us communicating once more, the signs did not change for the good. In fact, there was now a very straightforward indication of our demise.

So I attempted to start over with different logic, but to no avail. It seems that the very brick that powered our foundation was missing.

Tomorrow I will find time to schedule some counseling for my beloved, hopefully resolving the problems behind this troubling relationship. For the rest of the night however, I will hold on, attracted and powered by this thin, magnetic cord that keeps us tied to this dark and dreary place.
